Program Details:
  • Up to a $20,000 loan in health and safety repairs for single family (1 unit) or two-family owner-occupied Cuyahoga County residents. Income restrictions apply. 
  • Eligible repairs may include roof, driveway, gutters, exterior paint and siding, porch, windows, furnace/HVAC. Eligible repairs must meet certain health and safety standard in accordance with program guidelines. 
  • Loan eligibility and loan type is based on household income. Household income must be less than 120% Area Median Income ("AMI"). All loans result in a lien on the property. See income levels and loan types below.
  • Eligible homeowners must have valid homeowner's insurance and are current on property taxes or active on a payment plan. 
Table showing loan maximums by household size. For forgivable loans (30% AMI), the limits are: 1 person – $20,900; 2 people – $23,850; 3 people – $26,850; 4 people – $32,150; 5 people – $37,650. For deferred loans (120% AMI), the limits are: 1 person – $83,475; 2 people – $95,400; 3 people – $107,325; 4 people – $119,250; 5 people – $128,850.
Forgivable Loan - Household income at or below 30% of Area Median Income ("AMI"): forgivable if household applicant remains in home for 5 years or if head of household passes away.

Deferred Loan - Household income between 30% AMI and 200% Federal Poverty Level ("FPL"): loan is deferred at 0% interest and repayable upon the sale of the home or a refinancing.
